The official change
On 24 December 2025 the IND published Fees and required amounts for 2026 known. Fees are the costs of residency applications. The IND adjusts them every year as prices and wages rise. For 2026 the increase is 4.4 percent, using the CAO-wage index from Statistics Netherlands.
The live table is Fees: costs of an application. Amounts on that page are valid from 1 January to 31 December of the year.
Figures that matter for a start-up founder
Read these on the IND table, not from memory:
| Purpose (2026 table) | Amount |
|---|---|
| Start-up, first application or change of purpose | €423 |
| Change of purpose: self-employed after start-up | €423 |
| Essential start-up personnel, first application or change of purpose | €423 |
| Essential start-up personnel, extension | €423 |
| Stay with a family member, including partner | €254 |
| Child under 18 with a parent | €85 |
Turkish nationals pay a lower rate on several work purposes under the Association Agreement EC-Turkey. Citizens of San Marino and Israel have a treaty exception on the MVV/TEV procedure. Those exceptions are on the same IND fees page. Do not assume they apply until you match your nationality to that text.
The fee is per application, paid to the IND. It is not the facilitator fee, not living costs, and not company setup.
What this is not
The same news item also updates required amounts (minimum earnings) for some permits, including highly skilled migrant salary floors for 2026. Those tables are for employment permits. They are not a published “minimum salary” for the start-up founder permit.
Start-up applicants must still show sufficient means. That test sits on the IND start-up pages and is discussed on our cost and timeline page. Do not mix HSM salary figures into a founder file.
How to use the number
- Budget €423 for the founder’s IND fee in 2026, then add partner and children from the family rows if they apply.
- If you later change purpose to self-employed after the start-up year, the table currently prices that change at €423 as well.
- Confirm the amount on the day you pay. The IND changes fees every 1 January.
